Hi, I'm from Philippines and working as Telecom Field Operations Engineer.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830), Android 2.2.1
I've been using G-Mon and found it very useful especially the Field Test Mode.
However, it would be more useful for me if the app could do these:
1. Include only the colored icons of KML logs from the phone's home network. I have found out that it gives colored icon even to the signal strength logs that belong the other network. We understand that if the phone's home network is unavailable in an area, the phone will display RXL level from other network. Here's my idea; For example, I'm from "Net01" company and happens to conduct a drive test on an area without "Net01" coverage but "Net02" have strong coverage in the area. After the drive test, I will find out that it created red icons (which means strong gsm/umts signal) even without Net01 coverage because Net02 has strong signal coverage in that area. What I'm thinking is that, if it's possible, it would be better if the app will only give colored icons the signal strength of the phone's home network so as to better visualize in Google Earth the areas that have strong and areas that don't have the phone's home network coverage.
2. Give other icon color or style to the signal strengths of other network. For example, if my phone's home network is Net01, the red, yellow, green and blue colors should be for the Net01's strong to weak signal strength; and gray for Net01's weak to no coverage. For me, it would be much better if the program will always give gray icon color to the other network's signal strength even if the other network has a very strong signal strength.
Thank you very much for the time reading my suggestion that I could also consider a request.
More power to you.
Sherwin
